Overnight flight to Nairobi and connect with a morning flight to the Masai Mara’s Kicheche Mara Camp, a traditional, luxury bush camp with spacious, insect-proof tents and en-suite bathrooms. Your three-night stay includes: dawn and dusk game drives in open 4x4s, escorted game walks, a visit to a Maasai village, all park fees, meals and local drinks.
Depart on the morning flight to Nairobi. After lunch, you could visit the Karen Blixen Museum (author of Out Of Africa) or the excellent Giraffe Centre to feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes.
Board the flight to Zanzibar Island for six nights’ half-board accommodation at ‘boutique on the beach’ Z Hotel. This hip new hotel has direct access to white sandy beaches and probably the best swimming on Zanzibar, a small spa and a funky cocktail bar with stunning sunset views.
Spend a very special last night at the Zanzibar Palace in Stone Town. This boutique hotel was originally a sultan’s palace, now restored to its former glory as a showcase for Arabic craftsmanship.
