The romantic, six-suited Lions Inn, set within a coffee plantation, is a lovely base from which to explore the pretty old Guatemalan colonial capital of Antigua, with its coloured buildings and cobbled streets. You can even take a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride.
A visit to Chichicastenango market, known as ‘Chichi’, is the perfect opportunity to bargain for colourful textiles and other souvenirs, before continuing to serene Lake Atitlan for some rest and relaxation. The Casa Palopo hotel, overlooking the Lake, is the perfect oasis for relaxation and perhaps you could use Honeymiles to book a special dinner in its pretty restaurant, with its gorgeous panoramic views.
You then travel further north to Flores to spend time at the mysterious Mayan ruins of Tikal, surrounded by dense jungle. Listen out for the lively, early morning calls of the howler monkeys. You will stay at La Lancha, owned by Francis Ford Coppola, with its secluded cabanas in a beautiful serene setting overlooking Lake Peten Itza.
End your exciting Central American adventure by unwinding in the idyllic Coral Cayes off the Belize Coast. Stroll along the pretty beach in front of Victoria House Hotel on Ambergris Caye. If you do want to do more than sit back and relax in the warm tropical breezes and clear waters, then we can arrange deep-sea fishing, snorkeling on the huge coral reef, or diving to the famous Blue Hole.
