On arrival, you will be whisked by speedboat to your private resort on the island of Makunufushi in the South Male Atoll. Cocoa Island is an intimate luxury retreat with just 33 suites and villas, built over water.

The resort offers stylish simplicity, total relaxation, an amazing spa (one of the holistic health packages would made a wonderful wedding present!) and gourmet dining. A protective reef lies just off the beach making the resort a paradise for diving and snorkelling. If you would rather not get in the water, you can watch the marine life swimming past as you relax on your private sun-deck over the lagoon.

The design of the rooms is inspired by the local Maldivian dhoni fishing boat and each opens onto a private deck from which you can slip straight into the sea. Enjoy seven nights in a Dhoni Suite, with split-level bedroom, ample lounge area, and a sun-deck with chaise longues and a dining table. Breakfast and dinner are included. To mark your honeymoon, you will also receive a bottle of champagne on arrival, a complimentary sunset cruise with wine and antipasto platter, and a private yoga class for two.

The South Male Atoll provides sublime diving in undisturbed waters.  Cocoa Island has a house reef and over 20 sites for boat dives. Passionate divers may wish to do some of the more distant safari dives. The PADI dive centre offers a range of courses and dives, which can be purchased with Honeymiles.

Cocoa Island arranges deep sea fishing, sailing, boat safaris in the Guraidhoo Channel to watch bottlenose and spinner dolphins and an idyllic island-hopping cruise. Afterwards, laze on your own stretch of powdery sand or beside the pool until you can no longer resist the lure of your suite.
